Every one of us has a story to tell. Our life stories are told in part through our stewardship of the gifts we’ve been blessed with, whether those gifts are of our time, our talents, or our treasure.
This past year, I’ve spent time reflecting on service and stewardship as leadership. I’ve focused in particular on reconnecting with talents that sat dormant for the better part of 20+ years – musical talents. I have a different perspective on those talents, and have committed to rekindle and share them in 2019.
I’m sharing this as I would like to introduce you to a special organization that epitomizes service and stewardship of gifts. The life stories that are told through this organization are powerful and extraordinary. I’m asking you for your help in sharing your time, talents and treasure in 2019 to support this organization. If you’re able to help in sharing your time, talents and treasure, I commit to sharing musical talents via a concert later this year.
TreeHouse brings living hope to hurting youth and families leading to life transformation.
“The vision of TreeHouse is to reach every at-risk teen so they are loved, feel hope and realize life transformation. To accomplish this vision we seek to fulfill our mission to bring living hope to hurting youth and families leading to life transformation.”
“TreeHouse staff are grounded in the core values of G.R.A.C.E. (Growth, Relationships, Authenticity, Community, Empowerment) which determine how we conduct ourselves in the relationships we share with donors, fellow staff and our teens.”
I’m asking you for your help in sharing your time, talents and treasure in 2019 to support the TreeHouse (Mahtomedi Area) in particular, and TreeHouse in general.
One of the ways you can help is offering your time to help serve meals to teens on evenings that the program is held. Program nights at TreeHouse (Mahtomedi Area) are Tuesday and Thursday nights. I have volunteered to cook and serve 5 meals, 1 program night each month from January – May 2019. There are typically 25-35 teens who are served each program night. We’re looking for 20 volunteers across those months to help set up, serve, and clean up on the those nights. In terms of time commitment, you should plan for 6:00 – 7:30 PM US Central.
The average cost of providing a meal is an estimated $200. With 5 months/meals, the total cost is an estimated $1,000. Thanks to generous contributions, we’ve covered the cost of those meals.
I’d like to set a bigger goal to financially support to TreeHouse – in particular, the Area Directors and Staff of the 11 TreeHouse locations within the Twin Cities – and am asking for your financial contribution to exceed this goal.
The goal is to raise $5,000. Our contributions will go to the cost of meals (~$1,000); the rest will go to TreeHouse Area Directors and Staff.
If you’d like to contribute your time, talents or treasure, please click here and submit this online form to me. I’ll reach out to you individually with information on how to contribute directly via PayPal, Zelle, or Apple Pay Cash.
To help incentivize reaching these goals, I commit to personally contributing the following:
